Indy Johar 

Co-founder of the Project00.cc and Dark Matter Laboratories, London

Indy Johar graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc and MArch with Part 3 RIBA professional qualification. He has been significantly involved and lead practices in multiple dimensions of placemaking from social investment to design. 

He is the cofounder of the RIBA award winning architecture and urban practice Architecture00 - https://www.architecture00.net, a founding director of open systems lab - https://www.opensystemslab.io (digitising planning), seeded WikiHouse (open source housing) - https://www.wikihouse.cc  and Open Desk (open source furniture company) https://www.opendesk.cc.

Further, he was a director and designer of the impact hub network - https://impacthub.net, co-founded multiple impact hubs from Westminster to Birmingham, and has involved in establishing two social investment structures in the UK and India.

These experiences have enabled Indy to take and advance a systems and integral view of place making, advanced and explored by Dark Matter Labs - https://darkmatterlabs.org - an international not-for profit he founded in 2016. Dark Matter Labs is focussed on the great transitions our societies, cities and places face, working with partners like the Scottish Gov, European Commission & UNDP to drive innovations in the Dark Matter of integral place making - from the development of new financial instruments, new governance models and new models of portfolio structuring for place-based transitions.

Indy is a non-executive international Director of the BloxHub https://bloxhub.org (Denmark Copenhagen) - the Nordic Hub for sustainable urbanization. He was 2017-18 Graham Willis Visiting Professorship at Sheffield University and was Studio Master at the Architectural Association - 2019-2020, UNDP Innovation Facility Advisory Board Member  2016-20 and RIBA Trustee 2017-20.

He has taught & lectured at various institutions from the University of Bath, TU-Berlin; University College London, Princeton, Harvard, MIT and New School.
