Margot is a playful visual artist and multi-disciplinary designer driven by social change and storytelling. With a special interest in playgrounds, their non-traditional body of work has been recognized for inspiring play and connecting people in spaces for shared joy and healing. A talented facilitator and imagineer, Margot brings joy and invention to the creative process, weaving complex matters into concise strategy and design.
A celebrated public artist and member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Margot’s prominent sculpture “Chosen Family” has become a beacon of safety and belonging for the local community in Halifax/Kjipuktuk, and is now on display at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Their work at Fathom Studio gives voice, access, and prominence to community—via ART—for our cities and neighbourhoods. Fathom Studio’s proposed concept “The Lens” was recently selected as the runner-up for Canada’s 2SLGBTQIA+ National Monument Design Competition in Ottawa.
